Default Boot Problem Part 2... Oh Dear -> Power Supply - Quick Question

OK after my first boot problem (dont realy need to talk about) I had assumed the reason why my pc hangs on start up was because of the harddrive being faulty, but now after stupidly setting my power supply to quiet mode in the Bios i have found that the real reason all along has been the power supply (all the other stuff adds up and my harddrive is quite heathly)

OK...

I now cant start up my pc, infact i cant even get onto the bios... it just runs... nothing on the screen.

Im so desperate just to get in the BIOS and switch off quiet mode so that my PSU can give out more power (only a 250w little thing) I've even stripped my pc down to just 1 ram chip and a the Mobo and still no good...

Do i realy have no access to my pc untill a buy a new PSU as i have no spare parts. (revision -> exam tommorow... )

help

What motherboard do you have? Most motherboards have a way to reset the bios without actually running the computer, look through your motherboard manual.

Edit-beat me to it

That sounds odd, a power supply will not keep you at a black screen, something should have either fried or just not powered on at all.

Reset your bios via the rescue jumper.

Immediately stop using the psu your using now, you need a power supply that should have no problem supplying any and all of your parts with adequate power regardless of their settings.
